Whatever you think about Jeremy Scott‘s designs, you can’t say he’s isn’t daring. I mean, wings, stuffed animals, cherubs with boom boxes; intentionally leaving practicality off the to-do list there. But if you’re going to forge new style territory, and get people’s attention in 2013, you speed right on by the last exit sign for expected without a glance. Maybe head for Bold City and create a shoe like the adidas Originals JS Wings 2.0 “Black Flag.”
Scott’s pal A$AP Rocky knows a little about zagging when everyone else is zigging and provided the adidas Originals designer with the inspiration for an all-black canvas of stars and stripes from his Long. Live. A$AP. album. The embroidery is really tightly done, like you’d find on a flag. It’s an old school-constructed shoe — simple overlays, classic 3-Stripes placement, Trefoil logo, metal eyelets, adidas’ Dellinger Web on the instep portion of the medial midsole, and a mini lacing system at the rear collar to streamline those wings a bit. Jeremy Scott’s signature is even stamped in as a finishing touch of approval, in case you doubted he does.
