Derrick Rose is back. Chicago guard #1 stepped into the Bulls lineup for the first time since late April 2012 on Saturday, kicking off preseason action with 13 points in 20 minutes to help nab a 82-76 win in the Pacers’ house. Rose performed as though he’d never been injured, racing up and down the court, streaking to the basket, even throwing down a two-handed jam in the Black/Clear Grey colorway of the new adidas D Rose 4. Down in Houston, Dwight Howard debuted for the Rockets in a pair of black and yellow adidas D Howard 4 with typical Dwight Howard numbers — 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block — but the New Orleans Pelicans prevailed 116-115 behind Anthony Morrow’s 26 points and Brow’s 21.
Find Saturday’s kicks of note ahead in NBA Kicks preseason, including Danny Granger and Tyreke Evans logging early time in the Nike Hyper Quickness, Lance Stephenson in “Pacers” AND1 Tai Chi, and Steph Curry putting that new Under Armour contract to work with Spawn Anatomix.
Oh, some video footage of D Rose’s return, too. Back to normal already or needs a couple more games to rev up?
