The Jordan Future is here.
Jordan Brand today announced the Future, a forward-thinking sneaker design rooted in Jordan Brand’s historic heritage.
Seen on the feet of Russell Westbrook and Richard Hamilton, the Future, according to Jordan Brand, pays tribute to “the symbiotic relationship between the court and the street” with a one-piece woven upper that has been paired with the sole of the iconic Air Jordan XI for an all new approach to off-court footwear.
The Future also includes signature Jordan Brand performance elements like a carbon fiber plate and full-length Air cushioning while giving Jordan Brand fans the casual style of a deconstructed upper, an asymmetrical lacing system to reduce pressure along the top of the foot, and a suede interior and ankle collar for upped comfort. The absence of a heel counter and toe guard adds to the Future’s intended smooth silhouette.
That’s not to say the Future is all low-key cool. Jordan Brand’s inclusion of reflective threading adds a dimension of attention whenever the right light finds its way to the Future’s upper, and gold-tipped waxed laces lend further refinement.
The Jordan Future debuts in Infrared and Glow colorways — both shoes featuring a black woven upper base with reflective accenting and translucent outsoles done in either infrared or glow-in-the-dark — on Saturday, March 15 for $185 per at the Flight 23 at Footaction location in New York City and at select retail doors nationwide.
