After a decidedly uncharacteristic performance over the weekend, LeBron flipped on the LeBron switch again Tuesday night, pouring in 37 points to go with nine rebounds, three assists, and five steals to push Miami over Phoenix, 103-97. LeBron turned in a very quiet 13 points — tying a season low — in Salt Lake City on Saturday, as Miami dropped a 94-89 decision to the Jazz. The Suns game marked LeBron’s latest installment in his run wearing the no-frills balling shoe Nike Zoom Soldier VII, this time in a silver and red colorup.
Up in Portland, Kevin Durant paced the Thunder with another strong outing, putting up 36 points on the Blazers to eke out a 98-95 victory. KD did his work by matching silver and navy blue Nike KD VIs to his uni, while Damian Lillard fought for the Blazers in a team-compatible edition of the adidas D Rose 4.
Other NBA Kicks storylines in development — the Air Jordan XX8 and XX8 SE continue to shine for Jordan Brand on NBA courts, with athlete reps Ray Allen, Jared Sullinger, Gerald Henderson, Kendall Marshall, and Victor Oladipo turning to a gamut of options from player exclusives to Christmas, MLK and Bamboo colorways. The Kobe line is also getting plenty of high visibility. J.R. Smith, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Nick Young have enjoyed an unofficial status as Nike Kobe 9 ambassadors, while the Kobe 8 remains a go-to sneaker for the likes of DeMar DeRozan,Steve Blake, Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa, and Mike Dunleavy.
And as Derrick Rose takes part in pre-game shootarounds to keep active with the Bulls during his rehab process, the adidas D Rose Englewood 2 is getting some unexpected but welcome court time.
