LeBron wasn’t particularly elite on Sunday against the Bulls — 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists — but his sneakers were.
King James put the Nike LeBron 11 Elite on the court for the first time, treating sneaker watchers to the next wave of signature kicks for the world’s best baller. Teammate Dwyane Wade carried Miami’s scoring efforts with 25 points in a “Caution” style Li-Ning Way of Wade 2. Chicago won, 95-88, led by Joakim Noah’s 20 and 12, and D.J. Augustin’s 22 points.
In addition to LeBron’s Elites, we had another news-worthy shoe happening out in Oakland, and it involved another shoe blowout. With 4:48 left in the third quarter of Saturday’s Hawks-Warriors match, the upper and midsole of Andrew Bogut’s right Nike Air Max Body U parted ways as he closed out on Atlanta center Pero Antić’s jumper. That wasn’t even the game’s first sneaker incident. Hawks guard Mike Scott lost his left Nike Hyperdunk 2012 Low setting a screen with 4:21 left in the first. Play continued so Scott had to finish out the 50-second sequence, and can a three pointer, with his remaining sock/shoe combination before reuniting his sneakers.
Anyway, let’s check all the weekend’s sneaker goings-on ahead in NBA Kicks…
