LeBron James had a couple of games under his belt in the Nike LeBron 11 Elite and would’ve made it three last night against the Nets. But he shoe switched, again.
The Heat superstar started the game in a pair of white and red Elites before playing the second, third and fourth quarters in all-red Nike Zoom Soldier VII.
While it seems unlikely King James is experiencing another round of sneaker fit issues, it’s not implausible. James’ on-and-off relationship with his sneaker choices this season, coupled with extended runs in last year’s LeBron X Elite and lately the Soldier VII, appears to indicate his notably game-worn feet have yet to fully take to his high-performance sleds.
James finished the game with 19 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals but it wasn’t enough to edge past the Nets, who got 29 points out of veteran star Paul Pierce to secure a 96-95 win. The victory was Brooklyn’s third in three matches with Miami this season. The two east coast powers close out their regular season series on April 8 in Miami.
