Something particularly interesting happened during the Timberwolves-Warriors game last night (not Kevin Love’s 40 points and 14 boards, and the 130-120 final score in a relatively meaningless game) — Steph Curry wore the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive.
Yes, Mr. Curry’s sneaker switch is notable for a couple of reasons. One is that he’s worn the Under Armour Anatomix Spawn with machine-like loyalty throughout the entire 2013-14 NBA regular season and simply hasn’t moved off of them for a second. Two is that the sock-feel ClutchFit Drive isn’t happening at retail for a good handful of months yet, barring a schedule reset.
So how did the Baby Face Assassin son of Sonya and Dell perform in his yellow/blue ClutchFit Drive PEs, A-part of Philippians 4:13 markered on?
32 points, 5 rebounds, 15 assists, 3 steals, and 7-13 from downtown. Could be a very good playoffs for BFA, Golden State, and Under Armour.
In other NBA Kicks news, the Kobe 9 crusade has lost another soldier for the postseason. The spirited Phoenix Suns will not be heading to the playoffs, which means shoo-in Kobe 9 Award-winner P.J. Tucker will not be taking his Kobe 9s into the first round for national TV exposure against upped competition since Kobe and Nick Young can’t. P.J. is however finishing up the regular season valilantly — he donned some white Kobe 9 Lows last night against the now 8th seed Grizz.
