We gave you a look at the Lo-Qi Downtime by And1 in multiple colorways a few days ago here. Today we have another brief look at the shoe in the Black/Black-Silver style. The new silhouette is an updated take on a pre/post game shoe which And1 pioneered earlier in the last decade with the Tochillin. And1 is introducing a new footwear line segment and silhouette this spring with the And1 Lo-Qi Downtime. The model is an updated “spin on a pre and post game shoe” which And1 Executive Director Rob Purvy dropped word about last November in our in-depth interview here. The Lo-Qi line aims to pay homage to the original off-court And1 Tochillin which became the best selling footwear model in And1 history. The Lo-Qi Downtime officially drops May 1st and comes initially in Royal/Royal-White, White/White-Red, Black/Silver-White, and Black/Black-Silver colorways. And1’s brand new Advance Mid model hits retail this month. This performance basketball silhouette features a synthetic leather upper, overlasted midsole, high-abrasion herringbone outsole, and a 270 degree L2G (Low 2 Ground) cushioning unit which is a pinned air bag technology. Foot Locker and And1 have teamed up to create a brief mini-site on the shoe here which officially releases at Foot Locker accounts on February 15th. A low-cut version of the Tai Chi TGR, the muted red uppers come prepared for both on-court battles and off-court leisurely wear. Currently featured as SLAM’s “Kick of the Day”, the shoes will hit retail in Spring 2011.

This Black/Blue performance molded shoe is part of And1’s “Unlimited” footwear category and debuts at Foot Locker accounts in mid February. Earlier today, we gave you a look back at the AND1 ME8 Tribute shoe which the company released last year to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. While the shoe is no longer available for purchase, it was seen and worn on the feet of Monta Ellis today as he poured in 36 points, eight assists, and five rebounds to lead the Golden State Warriors against the Chicago Bulls. With today being the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday in the U.S., we decided to take a brief look at the commemorative shoe AND1 created last year in honor of the civil rights leader. The ME8 was Monta Ellis’ first signature shoe with the company and featured “L2G” cushioning technology at the heel. This White/Sandstone/Tan tribute shoe was produced in a run of 1,929 pairs – MLK’s birth year – and retailed for $129.99 with donations being made from the limited edition shoe to The Washington D.C. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation Inc. and The Stanford University Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute. In a statement at the time, Monta Ellis said, “Dr. King gave me the opportunity to dream of a better life. We gave you a look at the AND1 Ballitician Mid in a Black/Gold colorway here. Now we have shots of a Black/Apple style that’s currently out at retail in Japan. The shoe features the original tooling of Monta Ellis’ first AND1 signature shoe, the ME8. Also established underfoot is AND1’s L2G (Low 2 Ground) technology which is a “pinned” air cushioning system that is highly tunable and responsive and will be featured in more future AND1 products moving into 2010.
