Following its recent signing of Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia, New Balance has announced the signing of Pedroia’s teammate, Red Sox pitcher Manny Delcarmen. The deal makes New Balance Delcarmen’s official footwear and off-field apparel supplier. “I am really excited that New Balance is joining me in support of my charity [Bowlin' Strikes for Schools], which is very important to me,” Delcarmen said in a statement. “New Balance cleats are light and comfortable; hopefully they will help me strike guys out all season.” Delcarmen and Pedroia wear the New Balance 1101 – a Black/Red camouflage baseball cleat that features high performance running technology to eliminate spike pressure and give an athlete unparalleled comfort and fit on the diamond, New Balance says. In March, Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia signed a multi-year endorsement contract with New Balance. With the signing, the brand became Pedroia’s official footwear and off-field apparel provider. Here’s some images of the Red Sox infielder’s New Balance MB1101 Cleat PE. The shoe’s black nubuck upper is contrasted by red camouflage paneling and a silver midsole. Details include an integrated “DP15″ logo on the tongue and Pedroia’s son’s name “DYLAN” printed on the tongue back.
