Images of the adidas Beast in Bright Blue/White/Metallic Silver are out. This make-up for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard features an all-blue synthetic upper with white and silver trim. A facsimilie of Howard’s signature adorns the lateral ankle collar while his jersey number 12 is displayed on the medial ankle collar. Includes a medial SprintSkin panel and PureMotion cushioning. Earlier this week, we previewed a first look here at the new Dwight Howard signature shoe coming next year – the adidas Super Beast. Today, we have the first full detailed images of the Super Beast displayed in Black/Blue/White Orlando Magic away game colors. The shoe features new adidas SprintSkin technology which is a lightweight, water repellent synthetic material at the upper, ALIVE cushioning system at the midsole, and Torsion System shank plate underfoot. adidas breaks away from the Team Signature “Brotherhood” concept in spring 2011 with player specific signature shoes for Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose. Howard takes on the adidas Super Beast while Rose receives the adiZero Rose 1.5. Both models are shown in home, away, and 2011 Eastern Conference All-Star make-ups. With the departure of Kevin Garnett to ANTA and the aging of its marquee endorsement roster, it appeared to be an inevitability for adidas to return to this route. More info to come as it develops. Last year, adidas created a special make-up “Superman” themed TS Commander LT to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of DC Comics. The style features Superman graphics and logo badging throughout the shoe and was only produced in 75 pairs which sold exclusively at Bloomingdales. Here’s an early preview of the adidas model Dwight Howard will be wearing at the start of next year’s NBA season. adidas Fall 2010 catalogs have listed this shoe as the adidas TS Beast. The Blue/White/Silver colorway makes for a perfect match with Orlando Magic uniforms and the model continues to feature Pure Motion tooling underfoot as it did with the current adidas TS Supernatural line. The “Magic Beast” edition of the adidas TS Supernatural Commander officially made its NBA debut on the feet of Dwight Howard earlier this month when the Orlando Magic took on the Boston Celtics as covered here. Online retailer Osneaker is currently selling a limited size run of the special make-up shoes which takes color inspiration from Superman and features Chinese characters on the tongue which translate to “Magic Beast”. Following up Brandon Jennings’ Foot Locker appearance this Thursday is an autograph signing on Saturday with Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic. Howard will make an arrival at the Foot Locker inside The Parks At Arlington Mall in Arlington, TX between 2-3PM on February 13th to help launch his new adidas TS Supernatural Commander shoe which officially releases this weekend.
Dwight Howard had 16 points and 13 rebounds to help the Orlando Magic to a 96-89 win against the Boston Celtics Sunday. On Howard’s feet were the special make-up “Magic Beast” edition of the adidas TS Supernatural Commander. The Red/Yellow/Blue Superman-inspired shoe features the number “12″ on the medial side and “Magic Beast” written on the tongue in Chinese characters. Originally scheduled for a national unveiling on Christmas Day last year, the shoe instead became first displayed on Super Bowl Sunday.
