While Nike Basketball is outfitting its college sponsored teams in the Nike Hyperdunk, Jordan Brand is positioning the new Jordan Icons model as its big tournament shoe. Here we take a look at a White/Navy based colorway for Georgetown University. The shoe prominently features the Hoyas’ “G” logo on the lateral sides of the shoes and will be worn by the team as they take on Marquette (who have their own special make-up “MU” Jordan Icons) in the Big East Tournament semifinals. We last showed you a Georgetown University special make-up shoe in December with the Jordan 16.5. Today, we exhibit two new player exclusive styles for the Hoyas team: the Jordan Hallowed Ground and Jordan Ol’ School III. Both shoes feature a white base with Georgetown’s blue and gray color scheme along with the school’s “G” logo badging on the uppers. Additionally seen on the Jordan Ol’ School III is the use of the Hoyas’ signature kente cloth pattern on the midsole, derived from the Akan people of Ghana. Nike apparently hasn’t given up on the Air Force 25, as the silhouette is being re-introduced in 2010. The featured styles in the Nike Spring 2010 catalog show an Air Force 25 Mid Core pack with UNC and Georgetown team colorways, and an Air Force 25 Low Premium pack with an apparent take off on LeBron James as “Ironman” in a Silver/White/Blue paneled shoe, and Kobe Bryant as “Batman” in a Black/White draped AF25 Low. The release date on the Mid Core pack is listed for January 20th, 2010, and March 5th, 2010 on the Low Premium pack.

Jordan Brand gives us an up-close look at one of the team shoes the Georgetown Hoyas are wearing this NCAA season. Using the Jordan 16.5 model – a mashup of the Air Jordan XVI and XVII – this particular style features the Georgetown logo embroidered on the tongue along with “GTOWN” stitched into the lateral heel.
