It was around 1999 that I realized I could make shoe design more than a dream, a career. I was a freshman in high school and was constantly on the sneaker forums. One young designer shut the boards down for months with his vision for the future of athletic footwear. Back then the Internet knew that young designer as “Alphaproject”. Alpha was the first designer that I became aware of outside of Tinker Hatfield, Aaron Cooper and Eric Avar. Alpha gave me an idea of where I needed to start and what I needed to accomplish to one day make my dream a reality. Here are the latest images of the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII (8) in Black/White/Red. The shoe features a new Flywire chassis support system and a 360 Max Air unit with a Cushlon midsole. LeBron signature badging can be seen at the heel, with the Lionhead logo appearing on the tongue. Launches this fall. Retail is $160. The Nike Zoom Soldier IV in Grey/Plum is available now at House of Hoops.
