With Stephon Marbury recently re-upping this past July to remain in the Chinese Basketball Association for the next three years, one of the key pieces to the deal was an agreement by the Shanxi Zhongyu team ownership to assist Marbury in setting up a company to produce and sell his Starbury line of footwear and apparel in China. While no new basketball shoes have been available on the official Starbury.com website over the last year, the advertisement seen above featuring Marbury and a new Starbury basketball model has been reportedly seen running in Chinese publications currently. The model features an Air Force 1-like toe box with a dimpled upper appearance similar to the current Air Jordan 2010 Team and Air Jordan 2010 Outdoor shoe. Standalone Starbury retail shops in China are part of the discussed plans for the new Marbury-Shanxi Zhongyu partnership company. More info to come as it develops.
