And now they want a third.
Dirk & Co. shocked the Lakers in Game 1. They kicked them in the groin in Game 2. Led by Nowitzki’s (Nike Hyperdunk 2010) 24 points and reserve J.J. Barea’s (Converse Star Player EVO Low) big 12 off the bench, the Mavs swiped another victory in LA, 93-81, and seized full control of the series with a 2-0 lead. Kobe (Nike Zoom Kobe VI) scored 23, while Andrew Bynum (Nike Zoom Hyperfuse) added 18 and 13 but it made little difference. Key buckets by Nowitzki, Barea, and Jason Kidd (PEAK Kidd III) tamped down the Lakers’ operations. Ron Artest had 11 and 6 in his purple BALL’N Lay Up but, adding insult to embarrassment, WWE’d Barea in the closing seconds and was ejected. Dallas heads home looking to close out the 2x defending champs.
In a very anticlimactic moment, Derrick Rose (adidas adiZero Rose 1.5) finally received what everybody long expected: NBA MVP. The newly-minted most valuable got the Bulls back on track with 25 points and 10 assists in an 86-73 win over ATL. Joakim Noah held down the block for the Bulls with 19 and 14 in his Black/White Le Coq Sportif Pro Model 2.0, while Joe Johnson went down quietly swinging with 16 points in his Jordan Prime 5.
