Cannon lift off.
The first US release of the Nike LeBron 9 officially kicks off tonight.
Miami’s House of Hoops inside Dadeland Mall will have a limited run on hand at Midnight of the LeBron 9 “Cannon” (also nicknamed “Pre Heat”) which serves up a military-green color base inspired by nearby military base Fort Walton Beach where the Miami Heat played their 2010-11 pre-season camp. The special colorway then launches at other area Miami sneaker retailers on Sunday.
There’s a good chance you might get to see the Nike LeBron 9 “Cannon” earlier, however. The hyped Miami charity game hosted by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh known as “The South Florida All-Star Classic” tips off at 7:30PM tonight at Florida International University. It would seem like a well timed Swoosh event for the first public unveiling of the LeBron 9 on the feet of its namesake. You don’t need to be in Florida to catch this one, either. The game will be live streaming on CBSMiami.com.
