Kobe was due. Due for some kind of performance to push back against the tacit ageism that was slowly impugning his somewhat post prime years. He needed to prove that his inner pre-Mamba Dirty Snake could still do damage the young Kobe way. Turns out the Pac division rival Suns provided just enough enticement from past needlings to get the venom going.
KB put in a season high 48 in 39 minutes, to go with 5, 3 and 3, to keep the Lakers’ momentum going with a 99-83 win. And he chose the Nike Kobe VII “Attack Fast” to do just that.
Some of the other NBA Kicks highlights included Evan Turner’s Li-Ning Hero‘s helping him do 16, 10, 8 and 1 off the bench to reach Philly’s best season start (7-2) since its 2001 title run, John Wall going back to his “Home” ZigEncore‘s and Jordan Crawford switching to the Air Jordan 2 “Candy Pack” Red for the first Wiz win of the year, Monta doing battle through overtime in Concords to beat the Heat, and CP unveiling a muted red colorway of the Jordan CP3.V in Portland. Oh and Dirk finally put away the Hyperdunk 2010 for some Zoom Hyperdunk 2011‘s.
