Maybe it was Rick Reilly’s recent column touching on the perception that Kobe is not much of what he once was but still shoots like it. Or maybe Kobe’s raging against the constant injuries that require Orthokine treatment like people pop Advil. Whatever the fuel, Kobe’s using it to burn teams lately.
Last night he notched his third straight 40 point game by slapping around the often hapless Cavaliers in a 97-92 Lakers home win. Kobe scored 42 to go with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals, following his 48 against Phoenix on Tuesday and 40 in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Shoe of choice? Nike Kobe VII “Attack Fast” for all three games.
In other kicks news, LeBron wore his Black/Red LeBron 9‘s in Denver for 35 but the Nuggs handed the Heat their third straight loss, 117-104. D Wade kept his feet in the Jordan Fly Wade for 12 but added injury – a sprained right ankle – to insult.
