Rose re-blooms.
adidas has officially launched Derrick Rose’s new second half season shoe, the adiZero Rose 2.5.
Following the highly successful two shoe formula from last season, the 3-Stripes takes the template set by the adiZero Rose 2 and brings it to a high top incarnation. Which is ideal because even though D Rose is a super quick point guard, he also likes playing in high cuts that are just as quick.
This is the fourth adidas Rose signature shoe, and at 11 ounces it’s the lightest adidas shoe Rose has ever worn.
Now for the shoe details. The toe box features a skied satellite view of Derrick’s Englewood neighborhood, his stomping grounds as a youngster. Remember the “Cleared For Flight” theme from the adiZero Rose 2? The satellite imaging takes that to the next level.
Taking some inspiration from adiZero Crazy Light, the Rose 2.5 boasts SprintFrame, an enlarged SprintWeb area for reduced weight, and GeoFit memory foam in the ankle collar for increased comfort and symmetry with Rose’s Speed Wrap Ankle Braces, and the mega wavy Crazy Light traction pattern for dime-stopping grip.
Cues like “ROSE” on the tongue, Derrick’s jersey number 1 on the toe box, infrared sockliner and D Rose’s signature round out the presentation.
The adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 will be available in Home and Away editions on February 2nd at Foot Locker, Eastbay, and shopadidas.com for $110.
