While Derrick Rose’s offseason has consisted mostly on rehabbing a torn left ACL he suffered in the Bulls first game of the postseason against the Philadelphia 76ers, it has still been a busy one business-wise for the 23-year-old point guard.
After becoming equity partner with the Chicago-founded pizza chain Giordano’s just last week and in the middle of a web-series by adidas documenting his return back to the hardwood — on Thursday, the brand hosted an official launch of the new Rose 3 shoe and the 2011 NBA MVP’s apparel line featuring his rose-inspired logo (which he already gave us the details on last year) that will adorn all of his signature products going forward.
Held at the modern-inspired Chicago Illuminating Company, Rose talked about his new court sneaker and apparel line and became very emotional when asked about the support he’s received from fans during his rehabilitation period.
Not slated to return until sometime later during the 2012-13 season, the three stripes has kept the Chicago native in the thoughts of fans with The Return videos and even introducing him to the Twitter world last month (find him @drose) while Team USA was preparing to capture gold.
