There is actually paperwork that proves Sunday, October 21 was CP3 Day in Los Angeles.
True. Chris Paul was handed official documents at the halftime of the CP3 Day celeb game. As if the CP3.VI Challenge testing out CP’s latest shoe, open air tunes by DJ Justin Credible, food trucks aplenty, Affion Crockett and superfan Clipper Darryl handling play-by-play, and notables in attendance like The Game, Common and Chris Paul himself weren’t enough to certify.
The L.A. Fire Academy played host to the event, which put the L.A. racing-inspired Jordan CP3.VI Nitro Pack center stage. Celeb game kicked off without Paul who, after going over some of the VI’s finer points and receiving his docs, decided to join the White team for the second half.
Los Angeles area students watched from the front rows as Game drained three straight 3-pointers to nudge the Black team back into contention. It was enough to help send the game into overtime where CP knocked in a buzzer-beating trey to seal the White team’s win by four. No game accolades for CP, though, as actor Pooch Hall snagged the MVP award.
